Salina lay on her bed in a state of wonder.

Had she really just made love to Jake?

She rolled onto her side, stretching her arm over the warm spot where Jake’s body had been only minutes before. It was shortly after midnight, and he’d told her that it was best he head to his own room to sleep, in case Riquet awoke in the night.

Salina hadn’t argued. She had hardly been able to find her voice. She still couldn’t believe that Jake had just made love to her.

She replayed the night’s events in her mind. Jake knocking on her bedroom door. Jake entering her room. Jake sweeping her into his arms and kissing her senseless before she’d known what was going on.

Salina’s naked body flushed at the memory. She felt incredible. Never before had she ever experienced the kind of hot passion that she’d felt with Jake. He was a phenomenal lover.

She rolled onto her back, sighing contentedly. She wasn’t sure what had come over him, but certainly come tomorrow, he wouldn’t be avoiding her anymore.

Would he?

Salina bit down on her bottom lip as a smile spread on her face. A part of her was tempted to get out of bed, walk naked to Jake’s room and initiate round two.

But she could wait until tomorrow, couldn’t she? She could wait for a second delicious taste of him.

Salina thought of her friend Brianne’s words. Brianne had told her that if Jake was interested in her, then all he needed was time. Salina had agreed that being patient was the best course of action.

That had been her plan. Then Jake had entered her bedroom, patience the last thing on his mind.

Tonight had proved that he wasn’t holding back anymore. He had loved his wife, lost her and was now ready to move on.

He was ready to move on with her.

And Salina couldn’t be happier.
